Jerry Seinfeld confessed to NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams in an interview that he believes he is on the autism spectrum.
The comedian, who despite his fame still performs stand-up comedy at New York City night clubs, said that the more he learns about autism, the more he feels he fits the description.
Seinfeld wasn't diagnosed by a doctor, but Williams proceeded to ask the comedian what symptoms of autism he felt he possessed.
"You know, never paying attention to the right things," said Seinfeld. "Basic social engagement is really a struggle. I'm very literal. When people talk to me and they use expressions, sometimes I don't know what they're saying."
Although Seinfeld sees himself on the spectrum in a "very drawn-out scale" he doesn't view it as a disability.
"I don't see it as dysfunctional," Seinfeld said. "I just think of it as an alternate mindset."
