On Friday, new details emerged in the death of actor and comedian Robin Williams. The coroner officially announced the cause of death as suicide by hanging, and new information in the report hints at very troubling times for Williams.
The actor's still-grieving widow was asked by officials whether the "Jumanji" star was practicing auto-erotica at the time of his death, according to the Daily Mail. Auto-erotica is a sexual act a person performs in order to become more sexually excited. It usually involves a person limiting oxygen to the brain, and is typically done by tying a noose around the neck, the Independent reported.
Williams' wife denied that the actor was into auto-erotica, and explained that a 2009 movie featuring the act really bothered him. In the film "World's Greatest Dad," Williams' character discovers that his son died from auto-erotica, but he covers it up as a suicide.
The report also detailed that his wife wanted to bless the actor's body before it was removed from the house. She admitted that Williams had been suffering from paranoia. It was previously revealed that he was battling depression, anxiety and had been diagnosed with the early stages of Parkinson's disease.
She described a time when Williams put several of his expensive watches in a sock and passed it off to someone and asked them to keep the watches safe, according to the Daily Mail. The report also indicated that there were no traces of illegal drugs in the actor's system at the time of his death.
Officials did find a closed bottle of Seroquel, which is used to treat bipolar disorder, depression and schizophrenia.
"On August 11, 2014 the Marin County Sheriff's Office Investigations and Coroner Divisions began investigations into the death of Robin McLaurin Williams who had been pronounced deceased at 12:02 pm at 95 St. Thomas Way in unincorporated Tiburon, California," the coroner said, according to the Daily Mail.
"The investigation into Mr. Williams' death has concluded with the Coroner Division issuing the following things: Cause of Death: Asphyxia due to hanging, Manner of Death: Suicide. Toxicological evaluation revealed the absence of alcohol or illicit drug. Prescription medications were detected in therapeutic concentrations."
