In 2013, it was divulged that the beloved PlayStation franchise "Ratchet & Clank" would be making its way onto the big screen in 2015. Now, Rainmaker Entertainment and Blockade Entertainment are debuting the first official poster for the film (and several other promotional images) which you can check out below. Thanks to Gamenesia for the tip.

The film is based on the long-running Insomniac Games video game franchise. The games focus on two unlikely heroes as they struggle to stop a nasty alien named Chairman Drek from destroying every planet in the Solana Galaxy. Ratchet is the last of his kind, an impulsive "lombax" who has grown up alone on a far-flung planet with no family of his own, while Clank is a pint-sized robot with more brains than brawn.

The Ratchet and Clank characters were first introduced in 2002, with the games quickly becoming a successful series exclusive to Sony's PlayStation consoles. They've sold 26 million copies worldwide. The most recent installment, "Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault" was released in late 2012, but a "re-imagining" of the original game is set to be released in the first half of 2015 to accompany the film.

Directed by Jericca Cleland from a script by TJ Fixman (who wrote all of the games), Ratchet & Clank will feature James A. Taylor and David Kaye reprising their voice roles as the titular characters.
