Former NFL cheerleader Molly Shattuck is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old boy that may have been introduced to her by her son, ABC News reported on Friday.
Shattuck, 47, may have been matched with the teen boy by her son via Instagram, according to court documents.
After noticing the boy's photos on the social media site, Shattuck posted a compliment underneath one of them. Shattuck's son allegedly sent the victim a message from her account that included the woman's phone number and stated, "you should text my mom, she is obsessed with you."
At first, the interactions between the two were innocent, but over Labor Day weekend that all changed. Police say Shattuck rented a beach house in Delaware with her children and their friends, who brought the 15-year-old along.
Shattuck purchased beer for the minors, and court documents described several sexual encounters that are said to have happened between Shattuck and the boy.
Shattuck was indicted by a grand jury on two counts of third-degree rape, three counts of providing alcohol to minors and four counts of unlawful sexual contact. She could be sent to prison for 25 years if convicted of the crimes. She is out of jail on a $84,000 bond, and has pleaded not guilty, People reported.
Shattuck and her former husband, Mayo Shattuck III, divorced last year.
"Mr. Shattuck is shocked and saddened about the allegations against his ex-wife, from whom he is divorced," he said in a statement.
Shattuck has been in the spotlight before, but for more positive reasons. She became the oldest NFL cheerleader in history in 2005 at the age of 38. She cheered for the Baltimore Ravens for two seasons.
