A Florida man died after he was electrocuted while installing a dishwasher at his in-laws' South Daytona house.

On Oct. 6, Port Orange resident Jason Ferguson was helping to install the new appliance for his in-laws, which was not out of character, according to CBS News. The 33-year-old was reportedly in a puddle of water when he asked his brother-in-law to switch the electricity back on, according to WKMG Local 6.

While Ferguson installed the dishwasher, the family prepared dinner around 7 p.m. that night. After a while, they noticed that he was still slumped and kneeling by the appliance with his left arm behind the dishwasher, according to WKMG Local 6.

The family saw Ferguson was "turning red and wasn't responsive," police said, according to News 13. His family held him by his clothing and started CPR.

Ferguson was pronounced dead on arrival to Halifax Medical Center.

The investigation and an autopsy determined that Ferguson was leaning against the metal door of the dishwasher and his wedding ring touched "an unknown element in the back of the machine," according to News 13. The cause of death was electrocution.
