The eighth “Star Wars” installment will return to UK’s Pinewood Studios for principal photography production.
Deadline reports Pinewood Shepperton Chief Executive Ivan Dunleavy confirmed the production will be shot in Pinewoods Studios.
“What’s really interesting about Pinewood is that when you brush away the stardust, what you find underneath is essentially a manufacturing business. But quite a special manufacturing business,” Dunleavy told Deadline about the studio.
“Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens” recently wrapped their principal photography at Pinewood Studios.
The upcoming “Star Wars” film is set 30 years after the “Return of the Jedi,” and will feature cast members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Kenny Baker and Peter Mayhew.
Director J.J Abrams also brought on franchise newcomers John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong'o and Gwendoline Christie to help round out the cast.
“Star Wars” cast alum and C-3PO actor Anthony Daniels recently teased to fans the upcoming film will be one of the best franchise films to come.
“’No movie sequel is better than The Empire Strikes Back.’ You might eat those words for Xmas dinner in 2015. Joy & Indigestion to the world,” Daniels wrote on his Twitter account.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is set to hit theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
