Just last week, HNGN highlighted a goal by young St. Louis Blues phenom Vladimir Tarasenko as a possible Goal of the Year candidate.

Today, we have one that may be even better.

Late in the second period of last night's contest between the Boston Bruins and the New Jersey Devils, Bruins forward Seth Griffith scored a goal that could possibly rival Tarasenko's tally as the best thus far this season.

Griffith blocked a shot in his own end, fought his way through two Devils defensemen, and somehow, someway, ended up with his back turned to goalie Cory Schneider. Determined not to give up on the play, Griffith pulled off a no-look, between-the-legs backhander that beat Schneider and gave Boston a lead they would not relinquish.

Check out the video:

Schneider can only raise his eyes to the rafters in disbelief after that one.

Griffith now has four goals on the season.
