The NCAA is "actively" investigating accusations that Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston was involved in a point shaving scheme, according to TMZ Sports.
Allegations have surfaced that Winston attempted to shave points and "tank" the first half against Louisville to help UAB football player Chris Rabb win a $5,000 bet. UAB has since launched its own investigation into the allegations.
The NCAA enforcement staff is currently gathering information and attempting to contact individuals who may know about the offense.
Winston's teammates are denying the report, saying that he "cares about winning too much."
"They're just trying to hate on that man. Not one time would he EVER cheat," one source said.
Winston has been involved in several off-field issues since becoming the starter for FSU last season. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner was investigated for sexual assault last year, caught shoplifting from a local supermarket over the summer and was suspended one game earlier this season for shouting vulgar obscenities on campus.
