The six episodes in "Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series" will run from late in the third season right up to season 5 of HBO's "Game of Thrones" TV series, the company made known today.

Season 5 is anticipated to make its HBO premiere in the spring of 2015. Telltale has previously stated that this adventure game series would be based on "the world, characters and events seen in HBO's TV show," which itself is adapted from George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" novels. The developers said today that players "will visit familiar locations such as King's Landing and The Wall." Nevertheless, Telltale verified earlier that for this game, it will also bring in elements from the books that haven't popped up on the HBO series as of yet.

To wit: House Forrester, which was mentioned in "A Dance with Dragons," the fifth book of the series. House Forrester is located in the Wolfswood in the northern region of Westeros, and is loyal to House Stark of Winterfell. Ironrath is the Forrester home base, a place Telltale describes as "an imposing stronghold surrounded by towering ironwood trees." Ironwood is a natural resource that's in great demand throughout the land, and House Forrester controls most of the ironwood trees in the Wolfswood.

Telltale's "Game of Thrones" will feature five different playable characters in various locations around Westeros and Essos...all of them being members of House Forrester. The studio cautions that players will have to keep track of their actions from each point of view, managing the interests of all five individuals, since "the actions of one character can ripple out to affect the rest of House Forrester."

"Iron from Ice," the first of six episodes in Telltale's "Game of Thrones," will debut later this year on iOS, Mac, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Telltale also said it will announce other platforms in the future; the studio's previous titles, such as "The Walking Dead" and "The Wolf Among Us," have also appeared on Android and PlayStation Vita.
