A mother in Ohio received a skin-crawling surprise when she discovered a picture of what appears to be a demonically possessed girl slitting her wrists with a knife, WHIO reported.
Nicole Allen purchased the seemingly harmless "princess wand" toy for her 2-year-old daughter from a dollar store in Dayton last week.
But the magic ended when a piece of silver foil covering the wand's flower-like tip came off to reveal a harrowing image of a girl with huge eyes, red pupils and a sinister smile. In her hand is a large knife sliding across her bloody wrist.
"I'm outraged over it," Allen told the station.
"I want to know how they think that is suitable for a child. There was Barbie dolls on one side and baby toys on the other side, and these were right in the middle," the mother said.
Amar Moustafa, owner of the dollar store, said he was bombarded with phone calls demanding he pull the pink wand from his shelves, WHIO reported.
But the owner noted that the toy, which promises to "send out wonderful music," has the words "Evil stick" on the packaging. He says Allen should have read the packaging and paid attention to what she was buying for her daughter.
Moustafa says he bought the "Evil sticks" at a toy convention two years ago and they have been sitting on his shelves ever since. Last week he said he would consider removing the toy if the complaints continued.
However, he did not get a chance to because by Monday the toy was sold out.
