A Twitter user going by the name neongrey has created a simulator for those who wish they had a cat to pet.
The Cat Petting Simulator provides that experience for users, letting them pet the cat's ears, cheeks, back, belly and sides, according to CNET. The pet even responds to the user's actions as a happy cat normally would.
neongrey created the simulator in the open-source tool Twine as a game aimed at giving off positive energy, even if only for a few minutes.
The Twitter user pointed out that the cat in Cat Petting Simulator has actually done the responses designed for the game, which makes her "a real cat," CNET reported.
"It's been an ugly summer and an ugly fall, both in games and out. So it was important to me that I make a game that purely exists to make the player feel good," neongrey wrote.
"She loves me, and by extension, she loves you," neongrey added.
Cat lovers can go to the Cat Petting Simulator page to try the game out.
