Def Jam recording artist 2 Chainz was robbed at gunpoint in San Francisco according to TMZ. It has been reported that authorities arrived on the scene after a "shots-fired call just after 4:30 p.m" on Sunday. 2 Chainz is cooperating with the cops. He told authorities that he was robbed of his wallet and that he "wanted to handle it himself." No one was injured.
It if believed that the "I'm Different" rapper's entourage left abandoned him during the incident. Police allegedly told TMZ that 2 Chainz's entourage "fled 'like cockroaches' when it all went down." It has been reported that a surveillance video supports that claim.
It is unclear what the rapper planned to do to retaliate against the robbery. No arrest have been made.
This is the first time it has been reported that 2 Chainz is on the opposite end of the law. The rapper was arrested earlier this year in Maryland for marijuana possession according to TMZ. Like other celebrities, 2 Chainz used Twitter to state his side of the story. "Dam police f**kn with a n**ga. Locked me up and then wanted pictures smh (shaking my head)."
The rapper later released the photo in question to his Instagram account. It is unclear whose device the photo was taken on.
2 Chains is currently performing statewide on his B.O.A.T.S tour. The artist recently collaborated with renowned producer Pharrell Williams on his latest single "Feds Watching" available on iTunes now.
2 Chainz was once signed under rapper Ludacris' Disturbing The Peace label. The rapper raised to stardom after releasing a series of mix-tapes and later landing a feature on Kanye West's single "Mercy," and Nicky Minaj's "Beez In The Trap."
