Curt Schilling, several-time World Series winning pitcher and surefire first-ballot Hall of Famer, has had an unbelievably successful career - and life - that never was and probably never will be short on conflict or drama.
There was the infamous bloody sock from the 2004 post-season, the year the Boston Red Sox broke the curse of the Big Bambino - he campaigned for President George W. Bush that very same season. He has a long-standing feud with ESPN, along with a number of other members of the media. While with the Philadelphia Phillies, he came within inches of calling the front office incompetent. He's criticized teammates, managers, politicians and just about anyone and everyone.
So, it's not surprising that Schilling is on the warpath again. This time though, he's aiming a little higher, and his swath has been a little broader.
In a series of tweets, which I will present here without comment (h/t to Deadspin), Schilling makes clear his feeling that the theory of evolution is a lie - and lots of other stuff about Christianity and the gays and such.
Enjoy, if you dare.
@fknIrked @IRaiseUFacts @CharlieRDaley Hey clown, why don't apes still evolve into humans if that was the path? Why doesn't ANY..

@fknIrked @IRaiseUFacts @CharlieRDaley creature evolve into another creature entirely, if we all came from one organism? — Curt Schilling (@gehrig38) November 13, 2014
Settle in and listen to this world changing mind, he's eccentric and awesome, you have to rethink your world. https://t.co/Lf7FMjh00D

@rlbradley To bad it's been disproved about a thousand times. Every experiment to prove it has failed. — Curt Schilling (@gehrig38) November 12, 2014
@applextree You mean the facts behind creation?

@Bye_Dogma @wmdavid66 @idiocyalert @_Golden_Rule_ Here's where ya get stuck. I don't have to prove it, MANY MANY people saw it and wrote — Curt Schilling (@gehrig38) November 13, 2014
Where are the fossils for all the 'MISSES" in your Evolution theory? Elephants bred elephants, and will for a thousand years right?
— Curt Schilling (@gehrig38) November 13, 2014
@CharlieRDaley Show me ONE fossil, ANWHERE in the world that is a "miss", a creature in between two creatures as it evolved? Doesn't exist. — Curt Schilling (@gehrig38) November 13, 2014
Pretty great, right?
Attention-grabbing, aging athlete going slowly insane - who knows/cares?
All we know is, it's pretty funny, and Schilling is probably going to be all over the news for a while, so...go him?
