Miami (5-4) is tied with Buffalo (5-4) for second in the AFC East, with both teams sitting two games behind New England. The Dolphins, though, are looking to bounce back from having their three-game winning streak snapped on Sunday in a 20-16 loss at Detroit.
Heading into Thursday, Miami will likely still be without veteran guard Daryn Colledge. Rookie Ju'Wuan James is expected to start at left tackle, Dallas Thomas at right tackle and Shelley Smith at left guard.
"What you saw is probably what you're going to get (Thursday)," Dolphins coach Joe Philbin said, via ESPN. "Those guys weren't perfect, but overall I thought they held their own."
Miami will have to overcome the shuffled line if they want to end their three-game losing streak against Buffalo, something that makes Thursday's game even more important for the Dolphins.
"You lose three in a row to anybody, it's not going to feel good," said Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes. "The Bills play us very well. It'll be a huge game. To get a win on Thursday night at home would feel great for us."
Buffalo, meanwhile, is also coming off a loss. The Bills fell to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, 17-13.
"We definitely lost an opportunity," coach Doug Marrone said, referring to the 13-3 blown lead. "Now we're going to have to fight our way back and find a way to win our next game."
Bills safety Aaron Williams agreed.
"We can't change anything. It's time to get ready for Miami," he said. "If we want to get back to the playoffs, this is a really important game."
