Australian Man Burns Off Girlfriend's Skin And Eats It In Horrific Domestic Violence Case

An Australian man pleaded guilty last week to charges of rape, kidnapping and causing grievous bodily harm, including eating his girlfriend's burnt skin, in what officials call one of the worst local cases of domestic violence, The Daily Telegraph reported.

A Parramatta District Court heard the disturbing accounts of abuse that began in 2005 when the 41-year-old man let the air out of his girlfriend's tires and struck her in a RV park in Sydney.

The following year, the defendant requested his girlfriend stick her finger in a cigar cutter so he could chop it off, according to court records obtained by the newspaper. When she refused, he forced her into a bathroom, beat her and removed the door handle so she couldn't escape.

"She felt scared and lost hope," according to a statement from police obtained by The Daily Telegraph.

During another incident, the unnamed defendant forced his girlfriend, who has also not been named, to perform a sex act on a friend.

He then turned on her flatiron and clamped it on the toes of her right foot. He continued on to her fingers and arms and when the skin was burned he peeled it off and ate it while saying, "Mmmmm," police said in the statement.

The victim tried but could not fight him off. She was screaming in pain and "had never been so scared in her life," police said according to the newspaper.

It took all the strength she had to finally report an incident in 2012. But the extent of the ongoing abuse wasn't revealed until Officer Constable Genelle Warne of the Blacktown Domestic Violence unit made a routine follow up call.

Two years later and the victim still can't bare to talk about the brutality she endured.

"She was still embarrassed and ashamed and she did not even want her mother to know about it," said Warne, who praised the woman for coming forward, The Daily Telegraph reported.

The boyfriend is also charged with assault and has another 22 additional charges pending. He is expected to be sentenced in February 2015.
