Kanye West performed his new song "I Am A God" at the Governor's Ball in New York City concert according to Radar Online. The song is off the rappers highly-anticipated album "Yeezus."
"I just talked to Jesus/ And he said, 'What's up, Yeezus?'/ And I said, 'S**t, I'm chillin,'" he sang.
The controversial album has made headlines for its religious references. As previously reported the "Full House" star Candance Cameron Bure (D.J) admitted she was bothered by the rapper's antics.
"He's actually comparing himself to Jesus. Really?! Should any of us be doing that?! I would be humbled enough for what Jesus did for me that I don't want to in any way elevate myself or put myself side by side because I'm humbled by his gratitude," she said on the radio show "Sway In The Morning."
Despite the public backlash, West has gone forth with the title of his album and its religious references. During an New York City concert, the rapper went on yet another famous rant saying he doesn't care for popularity or record sales, he just wants to make music.
"This is the part of the show where I start complaining about s**t. Im just happy making music, happy to be able to perform that s**t for y'all. When I listen to radio, that ain't where I wanna be no more. Honestly, at this point, I could give a f**k about selling a million records as long as I put out an album this summer that you can rock to all mother f***ing summer. And at this point, I don'y really give a f*** about outside opinions," West said.
West celebrated his 36th birthday the night before his NYC performance with is pregnant girlfriend Kim Kardashian absent. The rapper was joined by music mogul and friend Jay-Z, Beyonce, Nas and others.
