New BFI Exhibit Gives a Peek at Unseen 'Star Wars' Artifacts

A compilation of new, behind-the-scenes stills from the set of "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" are available on IGN, offering a special glimpse at the making of the 70s sci-fi masterpeice.

The photos, which include notated script pages, details of a deleted scene ( with Luke and his friend Biggs at the Anchorhead Power Station), snapshots of characters who never made it to the finished film, and pictures of some of the stars between takes, come from the personal collection of script supervisor Ann Skinner.

The release of these images follows the British Film Institute's opening of its newest exhibition "On-Set - Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope," which will be housed in the BFI's Atrium until Jan. 4.

The gallery can be viewed in full from IGN.

The next film in the series, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," is scheduled to force push its way into theaters in December of 2015.
