'Vampire Trucker' Had 4 More Sex Slaves, Utah Prosecutors Say

Utah prosecutors say a truck driver with vampire-like dentures accused of keeping two women as sex slaves had more victims, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Timothy Jae Vafeades, 54, subjected four additional women to "a pattern of sexual abuse" dating back to the '90s, according to court documents filed Monday in Utah.

The defendant, who was arrested last year, used a small drill to grind down his victims' teeth, prosecutors said. The women also said the trucker beat them and warned them not to talk to other people.

Vafeades met one of the four women, identified as Victim C, when he was a patient at a hospice, the documents say. The two got married and left in his truck when Vafeades allegedly began raping her and kept her prisoner.

"The defendant took all forms of Victim C's identification; cut and dyed Victim C's hair; forced her to shower with him; sexually assaulted her; forced her to sleep naked; refused to allow her to look at other people; used a Dremel to file her teeth down; and hit her with a belt," prosecutors said according to the Chicago Tribune.

She was able to escape six months later when they made a stop in California.

Vafeades met another woman while she worked at a retail store. In 2005 he invited her to spend a week with him in his truck in Illinois, according to the court documents. But instead he beat her daily for nearly three months until she escaped.

The other two women, whom he met at college and online, accused Vafeades of sexually assaulting them on a regular basis, prosecutors said according to the Chicago Tribune.

The accused rapist was arrested in November 2013 after a police officer noticed a young woman with bruises on her face at a weigh station in Minnesota. The woman, 19, traveled from Florida to help him work on his truck. He beat and assaulted her repeatedly for six months until the officer saw her, investigators said.

An 18-year-old woman came forward after his arrest and said Vafeades also kidnapped and abused her.

Vafeades is charged with kidnapping, transporting for illegal sexual activity and possession of child pornography in relation to his first two alleged victims. He pleaded not guilty.

The truck driver cannot be charged for the latest accusations because the statute of limitations has run out, but prosecutors want the documents used as evidence in the original case, according to the Associated Press.
