Los Angeles has only one win for the season. After their sole win against the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday, the Lakers went on to lose two straight. Now, hosting the reigning NBA champions, Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant readily admitted how jealous he is of the continuity Tim Duncan has had with San Antonio.
"I'm extremely jealous of that," Bryant said, via ESPN. "I don't know if I can express to you how jealous I am of the fact that Tim, Tony [Parker], Manu [Ginobili] and Pop [Spurs coach Gregg Popovich] have all been together for all those years. Like, I can't even ... I can't express to you how jealous I am of that. Not all this up-and-down stuff."
Bryant also didn't shy away from his desire to get another chance to play Duncan in the postseason.
"I want a crack at him," said Bryant. "I want to get another crack before it's all said and done. I would love to play the Spurs in the playoffs one more time, you know what I mean? As a competitor, you want to have the most [titles], but at the same time, it's well-deserved."
While both are guaranteed to end up in the Hall of Fame, Bryant admitted they went about their careers two different ways.
"There's two different ways of skinning a cat, two complete opposite ways," Bryant said. "He's a quiet competitor. I wear mine more on my sleeve, but he's got the same competitive fire as I do. It's been a joy to compete against him for all these years."
San Antonio, meanwhile, is on a two-game winning streak. Their latest win came Tuesday with a 113-100 win over the Golden State Warriors, who're a likely playoff opponent this season.
