Los Angeles (1-8) won their only game of the season so far on Nov. 9 against Charlotte but have since gone on to lose three straight games. The Lakers' latest loss came on Friday against the San Antonio Spurs, 93-80. Kobe Bryant leads the team with 25.4 points per game, but he' struggled recently from the field, shooting just 31.8 percent over the last four contests.
"I don't feel too good, but I'm used to playing through that," Bryant said, via ESPN. "It's just tough, man. Tonight was one of those nights that make me really remember the challenge of being 36 (years old) and being 19 years in, and the body just won't respond. You're sick, and you used to be able to fight through those things. It just helps me remember exactly what I'm facing."
Golden State (7-2), meanwhile, is in first place and heads into the Staples Center looking for their third straight win.
"It's tough to stay on top," Warriors guard Klay Thompson said of the Lakers. "They've had their great runs. I think it's the Warriors' turn, man."
Curry has emerged as one of the top shooting guards in the league, and he's averaging a career-best 24.3 points per game on 46.6 percent shooting from the field.
