A teacher turned herself in to Alabama police last Thursday after she was accused of having sexual relationships with three male students, according to Al.com.
Ashley Parkins Pruitt, a 28-year-old teacher at Appalachian High School, allegedly sent X-rated pictures of herself to one student, performed oral sex on another and made out with a third over the course of three months beginning in August.
Pruitt also told one student she wanted to take his virginity, according to a Blount County affidavit obtained by Al.com. The married teacher, who has a son, was charged with two counts each of providing pornography to a minor and performing a sex act with a student. She is also charged with having sexual contact with a student.
Pruitt engaged in make-out sessions with one of the students, who was under age 19, from August to September, police said. The kissing allegedly took place in a car that was parked in Oneonta.
During an October incident, Pruitt allegedly used the photo-sharing app Snapchat to send pictures of her breasts and vagina to one underage student. She is also accused of using Snapchat to arrange an October meeting with one boy, also in a car parked in Oneonta, where she performed oral sex, police said.
Pruitt, who taught at Appalachian high for only a year, was placed on paid administrative leave on Nov. 6, Blount County school officials said.
"We're just so disappointed," James Carr, the county's superintendent, told Al.com. "These are the people we entrust our young people to.
"We'll just have to work through the process," Carr added. "We will not tolerate that kind of behavior."
Pruitt was booked at the Blount County Jail and is currently out on $215,000 bail.
