Tim Tebow found an unlikely home in the NFL: Foxborough, Massachusetts. Tebow will sign with coach Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots, ESPN reported on Monday.
Ed Werder of ESPN broke the news first.
Ian Rapaport of the NFL reported that Tebow will remain a quarterback in New England.
News of Tebow's employment with the Patriots comes days after Belichick dismissed a report claiming he hated Tebow as a player. New England might be the best place for Tebow. It's unlikely Belichick will allow the "media circus" that follows Tebow into the locker room — in fact, it's unlikely reporters will ever hear from the presumed third-string quarterback once he signs.
Belichick is notorious for keeping a tight leash on his players when it comes to the media. If Tebow needs seclusion to mature as a quarterback, Foxborough is the place. There likely won't be a distracting introductory press conference like there was with the New York Jets, and there certainly won't be any quarterback controversy with a healthy Tom Brady under center.
