Charles Manson A Groom-To-Be? His Fiancee Just Doesn't Understand Why People Call Him Evil (WATCH)

Convicted mass murderer Charles Manson plans to marry a woman who has been working for the last nine years to vindicate him, according to AP via MSN.

A Kings County marriage license was issued on Nov. 7 for the 80-year-old convict and his 26-year-old bride-to-be, Afton Elaine Burton, who also goes by "Star," a name Manson gave her. A prison wedding coordinator has been assigned. Manson and Burton have until February to tie the knot before the license expires, according to AP.

Burton has been following Manson since she was 16-years-old and she has since moved from her home state of Illinois to California to be closer to her fiancé.

"Y'all can know that it's true," Burton told AP. "It's going to happen ... I love him. I'm with him. There's all kinds of things."

Manson has been denied parole 16 times and will not be eligible again until 2027, according to IBT. As part of serving a life sentence, Manson is not eligible for conjugal visits. So, why would a 26-year-old want to marry an 80-year-old killer?

Burton believes Manson is innocent and she believes that as Mrs. Manson, she will be able to obtain information needed to secure his release, according to AP. "There's certain things next of kin can do," Burton told AP. The Release Charles Manson Now blog operator did not elaborate.

Burton told CNN earlier this year that she was first attracted to Manson after reading about his environmental philosophy ATWA (air, trees, water, animals).

"It's the life on the planet, you know," Burton explained to CNN. "The Earth is a rock and everything else on it is ATWA."

"I don't care what those kind of people think. It doesn't make any difference," she told CNN. "The man that I know is not what they have in the movies or in documentaries and the books. He's nothing like that. He doesn't tell people what to do. He's not manipulative at all."

Burton has a scar from shaving her head and carving an X in her forehead at the behest of Manson. The mark, which was similar to the scars borne by the girls in the Manson Family during his 1971 trial, was a protest after Manson was put in solitary confinement, Burton said, according to CNN.
