Dell Unveils Three New Powerful Alienware Gaming Notebooks At E3 2013

Dell brings the most powerful and durable technology in its new trio of Alienware gaming notebooks at E3 Expo 2013 in Los Angeles.

Dell announced three new Alienware gaming notebooks with bold and iconic designs packed with the most powerful technology. Three new variants namely, Alienware 14, Alienware 17 and Alienware 18 bring a new definition to the gaming experience.

Dell has focused on refinement and durability with its new trio. While other hardware manufacturers focus on sleek design, Alienware sticks to its traditional heavy look. The new iconic, pointed design has reduced the plastic components, replacing them with mostly aluminum and magnesium. Defining the new design, Alienware's Chris Leonard said that it is to protect the "technology inside."

According to the Dell press release, Alienware 18 is currently the most powerful 18-inch gaming notebook and Alienware 14 also scores in its category. Dell has brought the best of technology in its three variants of Alienware laptops with the Alienware 18 built for extreme gamers with unmatched performance and build while the 17-inch laptop gives a graphic-intensive experience and the 14-inch Alienware comes with sufficient multitasking capability for gaming enthusiasts.

The revamped Alienware notebooks have an incredibly durable anodized aluminum shell and magnesium alloy body. "It' s a big departure from 2009," Alienware General Manager Frank Azor, said in a press release. "The new models are 60 percent metal, including a 100-percent aluminum A panel [lid] and a magnesium alloy chassis."

The new Alienware notebooks have a reinforced plate protecting the AlienFX-lit keyboard and new technology in the LCD panels for enhanced viewing experience. The Alienware 18 boasts a Full HD 1920×1080 WLED TrueLife 350 Nit Display with PLS wide viewing-angle technology, while the 17-inch notebook features optional 3D panel for 3D gaming fans and 1920×1080 400 Nit 3D Display. The 14-inch notebook also features an anti-glare LCD 1920×1080 IPS 300 Nit Display and minimizes the reflection in any lighting condition.

The 12-pound Alienware 18 notebook comes with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M, 770M or 780M in a Scalable Link Interface configuration. The 17-inch and 18-inch notebooks include three additional storage devices.

The Alienware 14 has a 6-cell Li-Ion battery while the 17 and 18-inch variants have 8-cell Li-Ion batteries.

The Alienware 14, Alienware 17 and Alienware 18 notebooks are available for online purchase on the Dell website in the U.S. and other select countries. The 14-inch notebook is priced at $1199, the 17-inch priced at $1499 and Alienware 18 at $2099.
