Woman Dismembers Neighbor, Cooked Evidence

A man in Florida was allegedly killed, cut up and boiled in an effort to cover up evidence, the Daily News reported on Tuesday.

Angela Stoldt, 42, of Florida, confessed to the death of 36-year-old James Shaeffer in April 2013, according to court documents.

The Deltona mom was taken into custody not too long after the murder, but she is now being charged with first-degree murder instead of second-degree murder following her confession.

Schaeffer's remains were thrown in a dumpster after cooking them failed to cover her tracks. She told her son she was throwing out a dead deer to convince him to help her dispose of the body.

"Thursday is when I was cooking him," Stoldt told investigators. "Friday is when I was dumping him."

She said the man ruined her life, but authorities would not elaborate on her statement.

"I'm sorry, but I put Jimmie where he belonged, in my opinion at the time," she told deputies, according to the documents.

The two shared a bank account, and when Shaeffer met at Stoldt's house on April 3, 2013 to discuss finances. She fed him a drink made of vodka and muscle relaxers to make him disoriented.

She drove him to a cemetery, where he asked her for $4,000, and allegedly became aggressive and threatened to kill her. That's when Stoldt claimed she stabbed him in self-defense using an ice pick and a rope.

Back at home with the body, Stoldt first placed it in a baby pool in a garage, then she began to cut it into pieces the next day. Her plan was to cook and char the body, but it didn't work. With the help of her son, she disposed of Shaeffer's body in bags behind a restaurant.

Afterwards, she began throwing out the man's identification and cell phone, and the cooking utensils she used to cook the body, according to the Orlando Sentinel. She is being held in jail in Daytona Beach without bail.
