Ryen McPherson & Daniel Tanner: ‘Bumfights’ Creators Wanted for Shipping Infant’s Head, Adult Heart?

Two American filmmakers are wanted by Thailand police for allegedly shipping a box containing human body parts. According to TMZ, Ryen (Ryan) McPherson and Daniel Tanner - the creators of the "Bumfights" videos - were taken into custody and questioned after Bangkok airport security discovered a box labeled "Toys" was carrying a child's foot and an infant's head.

Reportedly, an airport X-ray machine revealed the gruesome discovery. TMZ reports that McPherson and Tanner were allegedly trying to ship three boxes containing the body parts to friends in Las Vegas as a joke.

AOL reports that police also found an adult heart and pieces of adult skin in the boxes.

"Judging from how the body parts were preserved in formaldehyde and cut, this must have been done in a suitable facility," head of Department of Forensic Medicine at Chaulaongkorn University told Coconuts Bangkok. "As of now, we do not know which hospitals or education institutes they came from."

According to Globe and Mail, the heart had several stab wounds and the foot had been sliced into several pieces. It's believed the remains had been stolen from a museum last month. McPherson told investigators that he bought the body parts from a Bangkok night market for $100 and insisted that he was shipping the items to friends "just to spook them for fun."

McPherson and Tanner were both questioned but were released because of lack of evidence, TMZ reports. The two men are now said to be in Cambodia. The filmmakers became well-known for their "Bumfights" videos, which pitted two homeless people against each other for money.
