A Saudi Arabian man has divorced his wife because she wouldn't return his Whatsapp messages, the Daily News reported.
He claims she ignored his messages despite always being on her cell phone. The man, in his 30's, grew annoyed of her cell phone usage, and claimed she neglected their home and the needs of their child. They had been married for two years.
The wife, on the other hand, said she needed to be on the phone to talk to loved ones.
Then, he tried sending her Whatsapp messages so he would know when she read the messages due to an update on the application. The app said she read the messages, but her husband said she didn't respond, according to Golf News.
This made the man worried and he left work to check on her. He found her sitting watching television when she arrived home.
The woman said she was busy talking to her friend, and that's why she wasn't able to answer his Whatsapp messages or phone calls. Despite her explanation, he decided to divorce her.
There couple's case has made headlines over what seems to be their inability to deal with issues upfront and irresponsible behavior. The husband was criticized for letting the marriage get out of hand while the wife was blamed for being inattentive, Gulf News reported.
