"American Crime" better come with enough jaw-dropping moments to keep up with the "TGIT" line-up on ABC when it premieres this spring.
The anthology series will slide into the 10 p.m. timeslot on Thursday, March 5. The Viola Davis starrer "How to Get Away with Murder," which currently airs at that time, will wrap its first season with a two-hour season finale on Feb. 26.
"American Crime" stars Felicity Huffman and Timothy Hutton as divorced, grieving parents whose must reconnect after the murder of their son. Their lives and the lives of everyone involved in the murder trial with significant racial motives will change forever. The ensemble drama will air 11 episodes over the spring.
ABC will also premiere the drama "Secrets & Lies," starring Ryan Phillippe and Juliette Lewis, on Sunday, March 1 with a two-hour debut from 9 to 11 p.m. The murder mystery show will replace "Resurrection," which received a limited season two order.
Phillippe plays family man Ben Garner who discovers a young boy's dead body while on his morning jog. Det. Andrea Cornell, played by Lewis, targets him as her main suspect. He must launch his own investigation to clear his name or else risk the loss of his family, reputation, freedom and sanity.
