Are viewers getting tired of TLC's "19 Kids and Counting?"
An online petition is urging the network to cancel the reality show with allegations that the family promotes "fear-mongering against gays and transgendered people," according to Change.org.
"End LGBTQ fear mongering by the Duggars," the petition stated. "The Duggars have been using their fame to promote discrimination and hate...You need to take a stand on the side of justice and cancel their show."
The petition, which was started by Jim Wissick, has been signed by over 11,000 people as of Wednesday morning. Wissick cited a statement in which Michelle Duggar warned the Fayetteville, North Carolina, residents that "transgendered people are child predators."
"Duggar words reek of ignorance and fear mongering," Wissick claimed. "Just because someone is transgendered doesn't mean they are a child predator or a rapist. The claim that this ordinance would provide predators with access to women's restrooms in order to assault or leer at girls or women is nothing more than fear-mongering and spreading ignorance and hatred."
The petition also claimed that the reality family has "thrown massive amounts of money... so business owners and landlords can evict and fire people [solely] over gender identity and sexual orientation."
However, TLC has not commented about the petition.
Last week, Michelle and husband Jim Bob Duggar were accused of removing pictures of same-sex couples kissing off of their Facebook Page. User John Becker, who posted a picture of him kissing his husband, said the couple banned him from further posts on their page.
