"Saturday Night Live" will celebrate the holiday season with three stellar hosts. The NBC sketch comedy series has booked James Franco, Amy Adams and Martin Freeman to serve as December hosts.
Franco will return to Studio 8H for a third time on Dec. 6 to promote his upcoming film "The Interview" with Seth Rogen. It's his first time hosting since 2009. The multi-talented performer released his "SNL" documentary "Saturday Night" on Hulu earlier this fall.
Nicki Minaj will serve as Franco's musical guest. Her third studio album "The Pinkprint" drops on Dec. 15 and features her hit single "Anaconda."
Freeman makes his hosting debut on Dec. 13. He'll star as Bilbo Baggins in the third and final installment of "The Hobbit" series "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies." Freeman recently won an Emmy award for his role in "Sherlock," co-starring Benedict Cumberbatch, and the two will start production on the anticipated fourth season starting early next year.
"SNL" will also welcome singer Charli XCX for her first performance on the program. will also make her debut on the NBC program that evening. Her second album "Sucker" will go on sale Dec. 16 and includes her hit single "Boom Clap."
Amy Adams will have the privilege to ice skate with the Saturday night players after she hosts the traditional Christmas episode on Dec. 20. She lasted hosted in 2008. The Oscar-nominated actress will next star in the biopic film "Big Eyes" about artist Margaret Keane, co-starring Christoph Waltz, and will reprise her role as Lois Lane in next spring's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."
One Direction will hit the stage for the third time as musical guests. The boy band will release its fourth album "Four" on Nov. 17 and features hit singles "Steal My Girl" and "Night Changes."
