After three years together, Jane Lynch and her wife Dr. Lara Embry are ending their marriage.
According to People, the "Glee" star filed for divorced from her wife.
"Lara and I have decided to end our marriage," Lynch said in a statement. "This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another. We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter."
The 52-year old actress meet Embry at a 2009 fundraiser in San Francisco and the following year, the pair married in Massachusetts which is one of the very few states that recognize gay marriage.
The ceremony was attended by 19 guests including Embry's daughter Haden who Lynch has developed a bond with.
"My greatest pleasure is Haden, my stepdaughter," Lynch said at an event in New York City earlier this year. "I am surprised how much love you feel and how you would do anything for your children."
"I shouldn't say this, but I'd never dated anyone that I wanted to marry," Lynch said in 2010, according to In Touch. "I didn't think it was going to be out there for me. But the minute we were married, I felt the difference: I felt like I am no longer alone."
Lynch currently plays Sue Sylvester on "Glee" which will be returning later this year but for now, you can catch the actress as Miss Hannigan in "Annie: The Musical" on Broadway.
