Rumors have it that current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar might choose Bellator MMA to making his return to the Octagon, but UFC President Dana White disagrees.
White said in an interview Lesnar is interested in fighting the best, which is something the entrepreneur believes Bellator cannot provide, according to Cageside Seats.
"Brock wouldn't go to Bellator," White said. "Brock wants to fight the best guys in the world. The best buys in the world are here (in the UFC)."
MMA fans will have to wait a few months for Brock to make such a decision, as the former UFC heavyweight champion's current contract with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) ends in April 2015, MMAmania.com reported.
Lesnar wouldn't be the first fighter from the UFC to jump ship to Bellator, as that list includes Tito Ortiz, Stephan Bonnar, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, Randy Courture and Royce Gracie.
White said in a previous interview that he has a great relationship with Lesnar, Cageside Seats reported. He added that Brock said he is "interested" in coming back, though the decision is ultimately up to the former champ.
"If he's ready, he'll come back," White said. "If he's not, he won't. He was huge for us but it's not like 'oh my god, we have to get Brock Lesnar back.' This is fighting; you have to want to fight, you have to want to do it. If Brock wants to come back I have a great relationship with him and the door is open for him. If he doesn't, I wish him all the best."
