A Saudi Arabian man wearing woman's clothing, in an unsuccessful attempt to escape arrest, was captured and beheaded Wednesday.
Salih bin Yateem bin Salih al-Qarni was arrested by police and was being transported in the official vehicle before shooting the officers in the head with a gun he was carrying, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Qarni proceeded to steal the keys from the officer driving the vehicle and disguised himself in woman's clothing - the seemingly perfect disguise since Saudi women are required to be covered from head-to-toe with nothing but their eyes showing.
Qarni's plan was flawed and he was caught during his escape.
After being captured for the second time, Qarni was beheaded in the southwestern city of Abha, SPA reported.
Under the kingdom's strict version of Islamic sharia law Qarni's failed escape plan cost him his life, since shooting the officials was an offense punishable by death.
