Fox Premiere Dates: ‘Glee’ Returns For Final Season And Rainn Wilson Debuts In ‘Backstrom’

Fox will wrap up fall series like "Red Band Society" and "Gracepoint" next month to make room for four new and four returning shows in 2015.

"Glee" will bow out with a 13-episode sixth and final season. The musical dramedy returns with a two-hour premiere on Friday, Jan 9 at 8 p.m. The remaining 11 episodes will air consecutively on Fridays at 9 p.m. until the two-hour series finale on March 20.

Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) will return to her alma mater after a failed TV career and learn Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) has banned the arts from McKinley High. Her fellow alumnae will stop by as Berry tries to recapture the magic she and the "Glee" club found for the first five seasons.

Rainn Wilson stars in the new series "Backstrom," his first regular television gig since "The Office" ended in last year. Wilson plays an off-putting but brilliant police detective in the quirky crime procedural.

The network also announced a new unscripted series called "World's Funniest Fails" (a working title) based on the YouTube channel Fail Army. The program will showcase "epic fail" viral videos and feature a panel of comedians to analyze the idiocy of people on the Internet. They will then reward a "Fail of the Week" at the end of the show.

Will Forte will star in the end-of-the-world "The Last Man On Earth." The "Saturday Night Live" alum also produces the series he created. His character represents an average guy who serves as humanity's last hope and has no one telling him what to do.

The new comedy "Weird Loners" follows four introverts who end up living together in a townhouse in Queens, New York. The show stars Becki Newton, Zachary Knighton, Nate Torrence and newcomer Meera Rohit Kumbhani, and premieres on Tuesday, March 31 at 9:30 p.m.

Kevin Bacon returns for a third season of "The Following" on Monday, March 2 with a two-hour premiere starting at 8 p.m. The show will move to its regular 9 p.m. timeslot on Monday, March 9.

"Masterchef Junior" will return for a third season on Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 8 p.m. and Chef Gordon Ramsey heads back to "Hell's Kitchen" on Tuesday, March 3 at 8 p.m.
