Bill Cosby To Remain On Temple University Board Of Trustees

Bill Cosby will still be a trustee at Temple University despite numerous rape allegations that have been levied against him, including one from a former Temple staff member, Philly reported on Thursday.

"Bill Cosby is currently a member of the board of trustees," a university spokesperson said, and didn't comment on what the future has in store.

The 77-year old actor and comedian has come under fire and has been facing widespread controversy following multiple rape allegations.

Andrea Constand, a former Temple basketball team staff member, was the first woman to accuse Cosby of sexual misconduct. She said Cosby drugged and fondled her at his home in suburban Philadelphia.

Lawyers from both sides settled a civil lawsuit and Cosby paid Constand an undisclosed amount of money. Bruce Castor, a former prosecutor, said he believed Cosby did rape the woman, but there wasn't enough physical evidence to convict him.

Cosby is also in the university's athletic hall of fame and has been there since 1984. He was a fullback on the football team and competed on the track and field team while attending the university. Associate Vice President for Strategic Marketing and Communications Ray Betzner said he isn't aware of any plan to reconsider Cosby's presence in the hall of fame or the board of trustees.

Cosby was born and raised in Philadelphia and is still the school's most famous alum. He often is a keynote speaker at graduation and draws big crowds to the ceremonies, Fox News reported.
