Microsoft: 'Sunset Overdrive' Free to Play This Weekend

Insomniac Games' outrageous Xbox One exclusive "Sunset Overdrive" will be free for all Xbox Live subscribers tomorrow, November 22, for a 24-hour period, according to a report at Polygon.

The promotion comes as part of the company's celebration of the console's one-year anniversary, and users will be able to download the sandbox shooter from 12:01 AM EST right up until the window closes at the same time on Sunday, November 23.

During this time, Gold subscribers will have the opportunity to unlock achievements and give the title's multiplayer mode a whirl. Additionally, Microsoft stated that players can carry their progress across from the trial period to the full game should they decide to buy it after this trial is over.

Be warned, "Sunset Overdrive" is a rather large file (23GB) and the offer is only available for 24 hours. I would strongly recommend starting the download as soon as possible tomorrow to take full advantage of this rather attractive trial.

From Major Nelson's blog: "Vibrant, exhilarating and absolutely bonkers, 'Sunset Overdrive' provides a refreshing and wildly imaginative take on the apocalypse and is hands-down some of the most fun you'll have with your console all year."

This is a done day ONLY deal, Xbox Live subscribers, so if you've been on the fence about Microsoft and Insomniac's riotous shooter, now seems like the perfect time to take it out for a test drive.
