'Super Smash Bros.': Gamestop's Prank Makes Gamers Think They're Getting Beat By a Little Girl (VIDEO)

Video game retail chain Gamestop may have pulled off the prank of the year for a recent promotional event in California: they set it up so a 10-year-old girl would demolish every player she opposed in the new Super Smash Bros. Wii U game.

She wasn't the one manning the controls, however, but that was the whole point of the prank – which went off better than anyone could have been imagined or hoped for during the planning stage.

Players, including even some elite gamers – West Coast tournament champions – showed up for the day's gaming, but the "prodigy" known as "Karissa the Destroyer" pounded each one into the ground in every game. She also talked some great smack: "You dress snappy, but your game is crappy," was among a list of favorite insults she hurled at opponents as she controlled her little monkey dominator, Diddy Kong.

Gamers as well as onlookers appeared stunned by the mighty female force. But when the gaming ended and she walked out of the store joined by professional gamer Daniel "Liquid'KDJ" Jung, everyone got the joke and sighs of relief came from all corners of the room. Jung, of course, was the one who had beaten everyone. Karissa was just the con's "faceperson" – his little living avatar.

Check it out, and get ready to laugh ... cringe ... maybe both:
