The Associated Press college football poll placed Florida State as the No. 1 team in the nation, followed by Alabama. Oregon, Mississippi State and Baylor round out the top five.
FSU narrowly defeated Boston College 20-17 this weekend, while The Tide creamed West Carolina 48-14.
The Seminoles received 37 first-place votes, and Alabama received 21. FSU remains the only unbeaten team in the top 25.
TCU, Ohio State, Georgia, UCLA and Michigan State made up the bottom half of the top 10. Utah (No. 20), Nebraska (No. 21), USC (No. 24) and Duke (No. 25) were all dropped from the rankings.
ESPN's college football power rankings, along with USA Today's college football poll, have Alabama as the No. 1 team instead of FSU.
