Actress Lisa Bonet, who played the eldest daughter Denise Huxtable on "The Cosby Show," is being accused of bad-mouthing her former co-star Bill Cosby.
A cryptic tweet found under an unverified account using Bonet's name, reportedly weighed in on Cosby's recent rape controversy. The 77-year-old comedian and former TV father is being accused of sexually assaulting or raping more than a dozen women - including model Janice Dickinson - back in the 1970s and '80s.
"According to the karma of past actions, one's destiny unfolds, even though everyone wants to be so lucky. Nothing stays in the dark 4ever!" the tweet posted on Saturday reportedly read.
The Twitter account has been deactivated, according to the New York Post.
However, the actress' manager told People Magazine that Bonet was a victim of a social media hoax and the account was fake. In a statement to TheWrap, talent manager Jillian Neal said, "I can assure you that is not her Twitter account and I have had the account suspended."
"Lisa Bonet has no social media of any kind," her manager told People Magazine. "Any posts made in her name were made by impersonators with unverified accounts. She also has no comment on the ongoing story."
Cosby's sexual assault scandal has been the center of the media. His lawyer has released statements denying the allegations and calling the claims false. After his performance at a Florida show, Cosby defended his decision to remain silent regarding the accusations.
"I know people are tired of me not saying anything, but a guy doesn't have to answer to innuendos," Cosby told Florida Today. "People should fact-check. People shouldn't have to go through that and shouldn't answer to innuendos."
