Mumford & Sons' Bassist Hospitalized With Blood Clot

Ted Dwane, the bassist for Mumford & Sons, was taken to the hospital Monday night to undergo an emergency surgery for a blood clot in his brain. The emergency has forced the band to postpone concert dates for their tour.

According to a statement by the band's official website to their fans, "Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment." The statement revealed that, "the scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation. Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery.

The emergency will affect their tour as the band has postponed three shows Dallas, TX, The Woodlands, TX and New Orleans, LA.

"All dates will be rescheduled and will be announced as soon as we can; all tickets for this week's events will be honored at their rescheduled dates," said the Grammy-wining band. "We have no plans to cancel or postpone any other appearances along this current tour."

The entire band wished Ted "a speedy recovery" and hopes to be back on the road shortly.

The English band scored two Grammy wins earlier this year including Album of the Year for "Babel". The band is currently touring the United States and will be performing at shows in the U.K. before returning back to the states for the tour.
