Vitor Belfort Says He's 'Stronger, Lighter, Faster' after Ditching TRT, Called Treatment 'Boring'

UFC's Vitor Belfort appears to be excited now that he is no longer using testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), saying that he is better off without it.

The middleweight told SporTv that the treatment was boring, and that now that he was done with it he is stronger, faster and lighter, according to MMA Fighting.

"So, for me, it was wonderful. Doesn't matter what my blood says, nor the result of the blood test. What matters is what is in my head," Belfort said.

The interview follows Belfort's passing of a random drug test earlier this month in South Florida, MMAmania.com reported. The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) made TRT illegal for fighters earlier this year.

Belfort said he spent the past year making improvements to some of his techniques.

"I know that it is hard to believe, but I'm better now," he added. "I have been improving my skills, my kicks, my boxing, my endurance, my grappling, my strength and my footwork."

"The Phenom" is scheduled to challenge the "All American" Chris Weidman, who has also taken a random drug test, for the UFC middleweight championship at UFC 184, which will take place on Feb. 28 in Los Angeles.
