Leah Messer gave a simple response when a "Teen Mom 2" fan asked if she would continue on the show in season six. She said, "No."
The 22-year-old mother's exit does not spell the end for the MTV reality series, which will continue on with the three other moms Janelle Evans, Chelsea Houska and Kailyn Lowry, according to RadarOnline.com.
"The other girls have signed on and are ready to film a sixth season," a source told Radar. "They'll be shooting as usual."
Messer tweeted the blunt reply out to her 1.1 million followers on Nov. 21. She followed it up with a message to the other "Teen Mom 2" ladies who have become friends over the last five seasons.
"I hope my girls continue to move on with TM2. I wish them the BEST xoxo," she tweeted.
The public scrutiny of starring on a reality series began to wear on Messer. Her husband Jeremy Cavert publicly accused her of cheating on him in October, and Messer is mired in a legal battle with her ex-husband Corey Simms over the custody of their four-year-old twin daughters Ali and Aleeah.
The mother of three "doesn't want her drama on TV anymore," a source told Us Weekly. "She's scarred by how her split with Corey played out on TV."
Doctors diagnosed daughter Ali with a rare form of muscular dystrophy last year and her situation will only get worse. It has created a great financial difficultly for the family, but Messer continues to fight for her little girl.
"She's going to be the happiest girl," she told Radar in July. "I don't care what I have to do to make it possible, I will never give up fighting for Ali."
Messer took a second job as a Mary Kay consultant in April to help pay for Ali's growing medical bills. Cavert brings home a comfortable paycheck as a pipeliner, but she has not announced if she will take another job with "Teen Mom 2" over for her.
MTV has yet to make a formal announcement on Messer's departure.
