A Kickstarter campaign has begun for a robot bartender designed to take the top spot among all kitchen appliances.
The robot, called Somabar, is aimed at saving you the trouble of clearing off your countertop while you try to make your favorite drinks, according to CNET. Features of the device include six cylinders for holding cocktail ingredients, Wi-Fi compatibility, and a special bitters infuser.
You can use the included app for Android and iOS to give the Somabar different instructions, such as mixing up a martini or other drinks. Precisely mixing drinks is the robot's main purpose, and you will be able to replicate your favorite recipes the same way every time you make something for yourself or your friends.
Users will be able to fill, refill and swap out the six cylinders to make different combinations, and the device comes with an automatic internal water flushing system to make sure there are no traces left of previous drinks when you try to mix something new, CNET reported.
The current Somabar costs $499 and is only a prototype. Its creators plan to meet its funding goal of $50,000 to begin production for the device. The robot bartender has so far raised $8,000, and potential backers have 47 days left to show their support.
