Dallas (8-3) bounced back from their consecutive losses with two straight wins, one against the Jacksonville Jaguars and one against the New York Giants. Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was injured in the Washington Redskins loss and missed the loss against the Arizona Cardinals, but since his return has played like a Pro Bowler: 521 yards and seven touchdowns through the last two games.
"We've got a pretty good understanding of what (the Cowboys) are right now," said Eagles coach Chip Kelly, via ESPN. "They play extremely hard on the defensive side; and then, obviously, offensively they are running the ball at a very, very high rate."
That challenge, coupled with it being Thanksgiving, will make it an intense game, according to defensive end Fletcher Cox.
"It's going to be a great game," he said. "I'm really excited, man. I'm looking forward to it. We're ready to roll. We're ready for Thursday."
Philadelphia (8-3) is neck-and-neck with Dallas for the top spot in the NFC East, making Thursday's game even more important. They're coming off a 43-24 blowout of Tennessee.
"We had to stay focused on Tennessee all week," said Eagles linebacker Trent Cole. "That was the next game. And we were coming off a bad game. So there was no reason to think about Dallas. But now we can. Now, it's all about Dallas. If you can't get excited for this game, you shouldn't be playing football."
