Roberto Cavalli Sketch of Beyoncé Draws Flak

Beyoncé has never shied away from being "Bootylicious", but tell that to the team at Roberto Cavalli. A press release sent out by the fashion house on Tuesday shows a fashion sketch of the singer wearing a multi-hued muslin silk gown, designed exclusively for her "The Mrs Carter Show" world tour. While people are all praise for the dress, it's Beyoncé's physique in the picture that's drawing brickbats - the 31-year-old singer is looking extremely skinny, with legs that have been elongated, a miniscule waist and doll-like arms.

Drawing a sharp comparison between the fashion sketch and what the singer looked like actually wearing the dress, fans on Facebook were quick to take umbrage. Too much Photoshop was said to be the culprit, with indignant fans saying Beyoncé's real body looks better than the fashion sketch.

This is the second time that Beyoncé's curves and their alleged alteration have been in the news. At the end of May, media reports claimed that the singer was unhappy with her curves being digitally reduced for H&M's latest swimwear campaign. Things went her way in the end and the original photographs were released later. According to a statement given to Huffington Post by H&M, "Beyoncé was our first choice for this campaign and we were delighted when she said yes. Our purpose has always been to portray Beyoncé as the strong and beautiful woman she is. It has been a good working process and a close cooperation. Both parties are happy with the images."

Beyoncé works hard to maintain her curves. After giving birth to her daughter, Blue Ivy, in 2012, she shed 57 pounds to get back in shape. In the April issue of Shape magazine, she said that breast-feeding resulted in a loss of the first 30 pounds, and the next 25 were worked off through a mixture of dieting and dance workouts. "Some people prefer the gym, but when I have to put on workout clothes and run on a treadmill, I get bored. The rehearsals leading up to a tour always get me in shape, so I never have to feel like 'Oh, no, I have to get up and go to the gym!'," she said in the interview, according to an excerpt in NY Daily News.
