A new synopsis for Josh Trank’s “Fantastic Four” reboot has surfaced online.
Rotten Tomatoes has shared a snippet of what to expect in the upcoming film. While the synopsis doesn’t give up too many details about the reboot, it’s still a little more than what’s been released to fans:
“THE FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel's original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.”
Lucky for fans, “X-Men” writer Simon Kinberg talked about the “Fantastic Four” footage he was able to preview during an interview with ComicBook.com. The director claims the film stands out as a different kind of superhero movie.
“We’re putting it together now, and one of the important things, because this Fantastic Four is a reboot, and is such a different tonality and vibe from those other films, we want to make sure that the first thing we put out really expresses the voice of the movie, and isn’t compromised by not having visual effects ready, or anything like that,” Kinberg said.
“I don’t actually know when it’s coming out, but I’ve seen all the footage from the movie. I was there for pretty much the whole shoot. It is a very different film from the others, and one that I think is very different from other superhero movies. It’s a very emotional, character-driven, more grounded film than I think people are anticipating.”
The “Fantastic Four” reboot is set to open in theaters on Aug. 7, 2015.
