‘Marvel’s Agent Carter’ Debuts With 2-Hour Premiere

Agent Peggy Carter pulls a double shift for "Marvel's Agent Carter" two-hour series premiere on Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 8 p.m.

"Agent Carter" will fill the timeslot usually held by "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," which goes on a brief hiatus to accommodate the new Marvel TV show. The remaining six episodes will air at 9 p.m. on Tuesdays until "S.H.I.E.L.D." returns on March 3.

The new ABC series will start shortly after the events of "Captain America: The First Avenger." Carter (Hayley Atwell) works for the Strategic Science Reserve, the forebear of S.H.I.E.L.D., in addition to running special missions for Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper).

Atwell has guest-starred as her character in two episodes of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." so far this season. She will also appear in the upcoming Marvel film "Ant-Man," out next summer.

ABC also scheduled its new series "Secrets & Lies" as a two-hour premiere on March 1 at 9 p.m. It will air after the mid-season premiere of "Once Upon A Time." The murder mystery show, starring Ryan Phillippe and Juliette Lewis, will replace "Resurrection," which received a limited season two order.

Phillippe plays family man Ben Garner who discovers a young boy's dead body while on his morning jog. Detective Andrea Cornell, played by Lewis, targets him as her main suspect. He must launch his own investigation to clear his name, or else he risks the loss of his family, reputation, freedom and sanity.
