Fred Eaglesmith’s Traveling Steam Show Tour Heading To A Theater Near You

What do you get when you blend of an award-winning singer-songwriter rock star with a stand-up comic? The answer is Fred Eaglesmith.

Eaglesmith likes characterize himself as "Johnny Carson meets the Rolling Stones." And now, he's bringing his rock-tinged, comic wit in the form of his well-honed Traveling Steam Show Tour to theaters across North America, exactly the types of venues both the Stones and Carson played as their careers headed for the entertainment stratosphere.

Just as fast as he is to make you sing, rock out and laugh, he is also skilled at bringing an audience (or fellow superstar) to tears. When asked to recall the last time a piece of music had moved him to tears, Tom Waits singled out an Eaglesmith song, "Your Sister Cried." Of the song's lyrics, Waits confessed, "It just tore me up."

Eaglesmith's genre-spanning songs have been recorded by many artists, including Miranda Lambert, Cowboy Junkies, Todd Snider, Alan Jackson and Toby Keith. His most recent album of his songs is "Tambourine," which follows "6 Volt" and "Cha Cha Cha."
