Sony's eight generation home console the PlayStation 4 has hit two more milestones just one week after the console topped 14 million units sold worldwide and five million units sold in the US.
The PlayStation 4 has now sold more than 15 million units worldwide. The PS4 has sold 15,087,310 units for the week ending November 22, 2014, according to VGChartz. The PlayStation 4 has also sold more than 50 million games worldwide at retail, with 57,151,113 games sold.
That total number of units sold well outstrips Sony's PlayStation 2, the best-selling video game system of all time, by approximately five million units in its first year of availability. Whether or not the PS4 can maintain this pace and bust through the total 155 million units the PS2 sold is impossible to speculate at this stage of the game.
The PlayStation 4 launched in the US on November 15, November 29 in Europe and February 22 in Japan.
