'Captain America 3': Hugo Weaving Teases Possible Appearance Of Red Skull In 'Civil War'

Actor Hugo Weaving isn’t sure if he’ll be reprising his role as The Red Skull in “Captain America: Civil War.”

Weaving played the villain in the “Captain America: The First Avenger” in 2011, but hasn’t been approached to take on the character again by the Marvel production.

“I have absolutely no idea. I haven't talked to anyone about it, so, yeah, we'll just have to wait and see. No idea at all,” Weaving told The Hollywood Reporter.

However, the third “Captain America” installment will be introducing superhero Black Panther into the franchise. Chadwick Boseman is the lucky actor who landed the iconic role, and recently shared his thoughts about Black Panther during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

“I wasn’t, like, a fanatic,” Boseman told EW. “I definitely read comic books, but this particular character was not someone that I knew very well until the last 10 years or so. I’d heard of him, but I hadn’t really been like I’m a huge Black Panther fan.

“I think once you get into the film business, though, you start thinking about things that would be really cool to do, and then I fell in love with [the character]. For me, that’s going to be the case for most people who watch it, for most people who see this character emerge inside the Marvel world.

“And it’s the right time for it, at the end of the day. It’s the right time for the character to emerge and to have his own life, so I’m really, really excited for it. And I just feel it can be done the right way right now.”

“Captain America: Civil War” is slated to hit theaters on May 6, 2016. The “Black Panther” solo film is scheduled for release on Nov. 2, 2017.
